A fortunate coincidence led me to meet H. Stenzler, so I can send you this brief note. The lawyer, Mr. Twers, the brother-in-law of Mr. Rosenthal, is going there. I’ve written you a long letter, but he can’t take it with him. I received your letter from November 21! But not the other things. I beg you my dears, if possible, try and arrange for me to come home. Life is horrific here. We’re dying of hunger. Money is worthless, terrible suffering – I beg you.
