My dears!
I’ve just realised that you also wrote us a few lines. You can hardly imagine how happy we were and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the lovely things. We didn’t receive the last package. Now, dear Ilse, I can tell you about your darlings – they are all in good health 30 km away from here in Lapaogorot. Rika was here last week. Aunty is a German interpreter there and they have the authorization to stay there. Someone stole the bag from Tilie so she now has hardly any things. Food is cheaper there than here but still expensive compared with what we have. Now people only want to sell goods in exchange for other things. If you get a safe chance, please send us foodstuffs, e.g. sugar, tea, malt, Frank fat, butter, bacon, jam, noodles, white spirit, shoe polish, soap, thread, matches, candles, rolling paper because we can get tobacco here, pepper, sour salt and anything else you can think of. Now the medicines: Kod , hydrogen, Hipermangam , tablets for gall stones, typhus vaccinations as there have already been a few cases of typhus here, Chinie and heart medicine. I also wrote to you to let you know about the conditions here through Mr. L.. Why hasn’t Mina written to us? How is she? What’s Mircea doing? I really miss you all! Loads of kisses to everyone in Schnoischt, Sali
P.S. The Münzers are still in Rucinetz. Mr. Münzer was here this week and said they are all well – and Sali Terner too. Please send a pair of slippers, a pair of winter boots and the unfinished sports outfit for Michel and a pair of gloves for me as mine were stolen.
Dear Doctor, If you get the chance to send anything here, I ask you to be so good as to let the Schädls know that you’re also sending stuff for us, including a nice wine. – Thank you very much and please give our warmest wishes to your husband as well. Fani Glaubach
