Moghilev, 14/12/1941 with kindness
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Boss!
Forgive me my few lines but as I haven’t yet received any answer to my CC , I beg you once again, do not regard me as someone who doesn’t belong in the factory. Is it ungrateful to expect to be treated well after 22 years of hard work and loyal service? And why? Just because I had the misfortune to be ill for a few weeks, I now have to be totally deprived of all your support while other, much younger employees reap all the benefits. – On top of that, I haven’t received my wages for September 1941. Ladies and gentlemen, please don’t forget me and send me and my colleagues
our wages for September 1941. Pass on all of your support, belated though it may be, through a (safe) courier because I’m going hungry and I need it very, very much. I’ve already sold my suits. I thank you in advance and hope that you won’t abandon me. –
Love, your unhappy
