I would like once again to inform you about our desperate situation and appeal to your dignity as a human being of the highest worth. Our trust in your ability to help as as soon as possible is unbroken, either by sending us any kind of food or by handing over some money to Dr. Twers. He will be coming back here next week. Until now endless couriers have been here, officers and civilians, only I wait in vain for an answer to the many letters I have sent to either your address in Radauti or in Bucuresti. And so I appeal to you once more in desperation – come here, help. We can not even acquire a piece of bread, which is not to be had for a week anyway. Show this letter also to th trustworthy second lieut[enant] Bologa, maybe he will be kind. I personally am ill due to the weight loss.
