I’m taking another opportunity and trying my luck again. We’ve been down to the bare bones since the start of December and have been living off charity. We live opposite the station in Mogilow, 3 families in one room and you can’t begin to imagine the squalor we live in. Our numbers decline everyday. Gauter Ernstine lives in the room next to us and doesn’t want to have anything to do with us. Jitke Birnbaum gives Gauter money and we are dependent on people we don’t know but who stand by and look out for us more than our own family. Gauter only stayed in Mogilow because of me – otherwise she would have perished alone. Ruth and I are
now completely barefoot. Please send us something. We battle starvation by the hour and no one asks if we are alive and if we have enough to survive. Please send us something urgently through Nathan or try to get us out of here. I doubt we will ever see each other again if it doesn’t work with Charlotte. We are literally wasting away. Try everything you can, maybe Gerdi or Mrs. Maier can visit us. We would love to see a familiar face. Maybe Mose can establish a connection through Betty. Think of us.
