Project

Background and Acknowledgments

This website, "Letters Against Oblivion," is based on the research project "Black Milk: Withheld Letters from the Death Camps of Transnistria." Through years of international cooperation (2009–2012), the documents of archive collection F1061 were systematically catalogued, digitized, and translated for the first time. The aim was to free the voices of the persecuted from the anonymity of the files and to make their testimonies accessible to the global public.
