Dear Mrs. and Mr. Prosser,
Thank you for your help, thanks to which I received the first message from my sister. We are sitting here, still waiting for our fate to change and our bad luck to end. Otherwise we are slowly going to perish here as we can’t go on much longer in such circumstances. A lot of our friends have already died, but that is not the most awful thing, because to carry on living in such conditions for God knows how long is much worse. Due to the high price inflation, things had been unaffordable but now, with the upcoming currency exchange of the ruble on Dec. 25th, you can hardly get anything for money, only by way of exchange, mostly for soap. Many days go by without bread, flour or potatoes. Sugar has become a foreign word to us. We beg you to try everything and carry on your efforts which could still save us. Perhaps you could contact Mr. Robert Hermann in Chernivtsi Str Str Miron Costin 7, who will certainly help you in your efforts. We will repay all expenses, we all hope for salvation. We don’t know how we will ever be able to thank you enough. We wish you a merry Christmas and wish you all the best,
Herm.[ann] u Sabina Wagner
Give my best to Mrs. Kilgen.
Mr.
Franz Prosser
