Tiron – Tiron
Mehendintit
Dear Professor Tiron!
Warmest greetings from Mogilow Transnistria.
I am turning to you in a state of great human self-interest. Perhaps you might be able to send me 5 kg of wool through the Rudich company, the brewery. It would mean I could knit gloves, hoods and scarves and earn a little money that way. Regrettably, everything is so expensive here that we can hardly afford anything. I would be so grateful, Professor, if you were able to send me what I’ve asked for. I’ll only be able to repay you properly when the war is over.
I would take as much or as little as you can give me. The Largosches and the Larda families have already received some. Under your sure protection, I think it will work. The lives we lead now are no longer human, they are lacking in everything and only the hope that it will not go on for much longer sustains us.
All the best to you, gracious lady, and to your dear daughters, Mrs. Kreisberger
Please only send if in safe hands, otherwise not at all. And pay the messenger in wool; we don’t have money.
